Macaw Tour

A tour where in 16 days we can visit seven sites in Bolivia and see 10 species of Macaws, along with many species of parrots (there are 50 species of parrot in Bolivia) and wonderful birds like toucans, barbets, motmots, eagles, and more.

We are working on the logistics of such a tour. It would obviously have to include Bolivia’s two Endemic macaw species, the Red-fronted Macaw, which is easy now with the new lodge, and the Blue-throated Macaw, which is far more complicated being a Critically Endangered species.

This tour would travel around Bolivia starting in the Pantanal region of Bolivia to see the largest parrot in the world, the Hyacinth Macaw. Then up to Noel Kempf National Park to observe the rainforest macaw species such as the Red-and-green Macaw and the Scarlet Macaw. From their, we head to the Beni Savannas to search for the Golden-collared macaw, Chestnut-fronted Macaw, Blue-throated Macaw, Red-bellied Macaw and the Blue-and-yellow. From here the Military Macaw, and ending in the cooler desert habitat of the Red-fronted Macaw. This tour is guaranteed to be a lot of fun.

There has been a great interest in this trip even before advertising it and places will be limited so please fill in the enquiry form to provisionally book. You will be under no obligation whatsoever until you have paid a deposit.

Prices and full itinerary coming shortly.
